Why choose a Moissanite engagement ring?

Why choose a Moissanite engagement ring?

Choosing your forever ring is a huge decision and people often ask what the difference between Moissanite and Diamonds is.

Moissanite has all of the qualities of a diamond, but at a much more modest price. Moissanite is widely popular as it has unrivalled brilliance, fire and won’t fade or discolour over time. When you choose a moissanite ring, you are purchasing a superior stone that exceeds the beauty and durability of a diamond.

Moissanite surpasses diamonds in brilliance, fire and lustre when they are cut the right way, and THEADORE + CO.’s refined Moissanite is carefully cut in order to reflect light with perfect symmetry, giving it a diamond-like effect.

Diamonds vs Moissanite

Durability: On the Mohs hardness scale, diamonds are given the highest rating of 10. Moissanite, on the other hand, doesn’t fall far behind. Moissanite is the second hardest to diamonds on the Mohs hardness scale, and is given a rating of 9.5 and suitable for daily wear.

Colour: The Diamond colour scale can vary greatly. Diamonds are graded on a scale from D (which is colourless) to Z (which is yellowish). The highest colour grade would be a diamond that has no colour, being D. At THEADORE + CO. we only offer cultured Moissanite stones that are colour graded D, to give you that diamond-like effect.

Sourcing: Diamonds are formed far below the surface of the Earth, where they are compressed into crystals over the course of millions of years. They then erupt out of pipes deep underground, forming the deposits that are mined today. Moissanites are lab-grown, meaning they are ethically made and consciously sourced.
