Sophie and I first met at a house party about 10 years ago and started seeing each other shortly after. After around a year of casually dating, Sophie decided she wanted to travel the world while I was busy doing my apprenticeship, so we said goodbye - both secretly hoping it wouldn’t be forever. Fast forward another three years and somehow our paths crossed again. We started seeing each other once more and, well… the rest is history.
I proposed in Cappadocia, Turkey. At around 5:00am, we walked up to one of the popular sunrise lookouts where you can watch hundreds of hot air balloons float above the landscape. Sophie had absolutely no idea what was about to happen, so what she thought was simply going to be a scenic sunrise turned into a moment we’ll both remember forever.

Sophie has a very unique taste in… well, pretty much everything, so I knew a regular diamond ring wasn’t going to cut it. She had shared a lot of ring inspiration with her friends over the years, so I managed to collect all the photos and used them as inspiration to design something similar. Everyone who has seen the ring says, “that is so Sophie,” and most importantly - she loves it. So I think we nailed it.

I’m most looking forward to saving $50k over the next five years so I can spend all that money on all my mates drinking free booze while they watch me slow dance through an anxiety attack. In all seriousness though, I think we both share the same vision, a relaxed day spent celebrating with the people we love most. Planning that together feels really exciting. (famous last words.)
