We had the pleasure of being a part of Drew and Kyle’s engagement journey these last few months. Join us in reading all about their beautiful, film-like engagement story.
Could you share a bit about your journey together, such as how long you've been a couple and the story of how you first met?
We have been together for 4 years and met at the very start of covid. Everything had closed down and I was able to stay working at the venue I was at by doing motel and bottle shop shifts. Kyle came through the bottle shop one night with his dog and I made small talk first by asking to pet his dog and a week or so later slid into his DM's haha!
We'd love to hear details of your proposal. Where did Kyle propose and how?
The proposal was at Maddison Square Garden in NYC! He had always planned to propose on our holiday to NY but each day was changed around pending the weather and what we felt like doing which made it hard for him. Our last night we went to a basketball game and were having the best time and he thought why not! It is so funny now we look back as he left the ring in Aus (luckily as our baggage was lost for 3 days) and needed something to use to propose, he told me he was going to the bathroom but ran around the entire centre looking for something to use, met a wonderful lady who helped him find a toy ring and introduced Kyle to the general manager of the MSG. He popped the question, our entire area cheered and then the GM took us into one of the private corporate boxes with champagne to celebrate and watch the last quarter of the game! It was such a whirlwind! When we got home from our holiday he then surprised me with the beautiful ring from Theadore + Co at the beach.
The process of choosing an engagement ring is deeply symbolic. Could you elaborate on why you love our Emerald Solitaire Engagement Ring?
Emerald cut was my dream for whenever a proposal happened, it’s so elegant and timeless from here Kyle did all of the other designing and made all the choices, the finished ring was a complete surprise! And the best surprise!
Do you have plans to get married soon and if so, can you share any details?
We have a plan to travel to Europe to have a small ceremony and dinner followed by a honeymoon together. 2026 is currently the year we are hoping for!
What are you most excited for in your future as a couple?
Experiencing the world and adventures together is our new found passion. We have so many plans for holidays both within Australia and overseas. But one at a time!
